Imagination rules the world...

After years of creating award-winning, high-concept comedy, Uncalled For is embarking on their first dramatic project. Possible Worlds is a sci-fi love story, a philosophical murder mystery, a tragedy stretched across multiple universes. Written by John Mighton, Possible Worlds is an emotional, intelligent romance that will keep audiences questioning reality long after the lights come up.

Bios

Liz Valdez - Director

Liz Valdez, currently part-time faculty at Concordia University's Theatre Department where she graduated with a BFA, has been teaching, coaching on set, and directing for over fifteen years. Productions include new works by Montreal playwrights, poets and her own collective creations. Some of her most recent directing credits include Village Scenes' La Resurrection de Jeanne D'Arc/The Second Coming of Joan of Arc by Carolyn Gage, BTW's 2010 School Tour, The Nutmeg Princess by Richardo Keens-Douglas, Tableau d'Hote's Haunted House at Segal Center by Endre Farkas, Problem Child by George F. Walker at Mainline, The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman at ASM Studio, The Secret Garden Geordie Productions school touring show, Voices at Monument National and Cabaret Vehicule at Place des Arts both by Endre Farkas. She will once again be back at Segal Center directing Humans by Daniel MacIvor as part of Tableau D'Hôte's 2010/11 season and is excited to be working with Uncalled For on Possible Worlds by John Mighton, which has challenged her "creative mental processes" to no end. "Why do we have imaginations?" Working with the talented Uncalled For cast and her three beautiful daughters remind her of how great and important the imagination is and to constantly push those boundaries. Thanks guys for trusting me so completely and allowing me to "create some disturbances" in that "field of information."

Matt Goldberg - Williams

Matt Goldberg is a founding member of Uncalled For. He has been a member throughout their murky history, even as founder of their earliest incarnation, the John Abbott College Improv Club. He has been an improviser for the past 15 years and has been a writer and a performer in Uncalled For's last four scripted comedy shows -- Thunderspank!, Blastback Babyzap, Today is All Your Birthdays and Hypnogogic Logic. Matt has also been a regular staple of the Montreal Fringe Festival's late night talk show The 13th Hour, playing the part of their endlessly optimistic intern, Rufus. Possible Worlds marks Matt's return to theatre performance after a break of five years. Before this, he appeared in a number of productions at McGill University and John Abbott College, including Cosi, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged), The Real Inspector Hound, and Cabaret. He also directed Tom Stoppard's Dogg's Hamlet and Cahoot's Macbeth in 2004. Matt holds an MA in English Drama and Theatre from the University of Guelph, and works as a CEGEP teacher. He is also the producer and host of Confabulation, a monthly showcase of true-life stories, told by Montrealers, without notes, gimmicks or props.

Eric Hausknost - Berkley

Eric is a graduate of both John Abbott College Professional Theatre Dept. and Concordia University's Major in Theatre. Recent credits include playing A.M. Klein in Haunted House at the Segal Center, directed by Liz Valdez, and pulling double duty for Tableau d'Hote Theatre's production of George F Walker's Motel Chronicles, playing Henry in End of Civilization, and directing the series finale Risk Everything. He is thrilled to have been called upon by such a fine group of young performers to play the old guy. These improv specialists have proven to be more serious, professional and focused then most people he's met. Almost boring actually. Thanks to Matt, Dan, Anders and Mike for inviting him to play along. Eric will next be seen once again at the Segal Center in Humans, once again directed by the brilliant and beautiful mother of his three beautiful girls, Liz Valdez, once again for Tableau d'Hote...

Heidi Hawkins - Joyce

After graduating from John Abbott College's Professional Theatre Program, Heidi has had the pleasure to work in film, television, theatre and radio. Favorite roles include Felicity in Mainline's The Real Inspector Hound, Celia in Pumpkin Theatre's As you Like it and Erika in Persephone's SubUrbia. Heidi has also recently delved into the world of directing. Her most recent credits include Nani Tanifa's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and Random Thread's Hot Pink. Heidi feels wonderfully challenged by this role and by her frighteningly talented cast, crew and director. She thanks Dan; in this world, and every other.

Dan Jeannotte - George

Dan Jeannotte is a Montreal-based actor, improviser and writer, and a founding member of Uncalled For. His theatre credits include Till We Meet Again, Cherry Docs, The Real Inspector Hound, Dracula, Hedda Gabler, Legend of the Barbarian and As You Like It. He has written, danced and assistant-directed for comedy-dance tribe Dance Animal; he is one-half of improv duo You & Me and Me & You; he is a producer and co-host of the Fringe's infamous late-night cabaret The 13th Hour. He can next be seen on stage in November, in Tableau D'Hôte's production of Laval Goupil's familial drama Dark Owl.

Anders Yates - Scientist

Anders is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. In 2007, he travelled to Tokyo to perform on stage in the cult musical comedy Forbidden Zone, and can be seen in the IFC series The Business. He is a founding member of the award-winning company Dance Animal, the world's first comedy-dance tribe and is currently a co-producer of Mprov, the Montreal Improv Festival. Anders has been involved in documentary filmmaking with Montreal's Rotating Planet Productions, and is also an avid writer and teacher as well as an aspiring clown. Stage credits with Uncalled For include Hypnogogic Logic, Today Is All Your Birthdays, Blastback Babyzap, Thunderspank!, The 13th Hour and pretty much anything else the group has ever been involved in. Non Uncalled For credits include Dance Animal presents: Dance Animal; Dance Animal presents: Freaks of Nature; Always Lost, Never Found (New Classical Theatre Festival) and Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth (McGill Players' Theatre). Anders is the tallest member of Uncalled For.
